Members’ forum
Following the formal AGM, members took part in an open forum during which Mark West presented the ECB Exceptional Funding Framework before taking questions.
Head Coach Paul Farbrace then addressed cricketing matters.
The discussions reflected both the strength of feeling among members and the Club’s commitment to engaging openly and transparently.
Speaking after the AGM, Sir Rod Aldridge said:
“It was important that members had the opportunity to hear openly about the Club’s position and to ask questions. There is no doubt this has been a difficult period, and it is right that members have engaged so fully in the discussion.
“What matters now is that we continue to respond with clarity, accountability and a shared commitment to putting the organisation on a stronger footing for the future.
“With that in mind, we begin the process of recruiting our new Chair on Monday. This is a key appointment and an important opportunity to bring in someone who can unite the Club and help drive it forward to realise its full potential.”
Mark West added:
“Thank you to all members who attended and contributed to what was an important and, at times, challenging evening.
“We are focused on addressing the issues that have been raised. The steps we are taking to strengthen governance, improve financial control and bring in additional expertise are already underway.
“I would also like to recognise the support and professionalism of Paul Farbrace, our players and all Sussex Cricket colleagues during this period. They have remained fully committed throughout, and that gives us real confidence as we look ahead.
“With the new season getting underway next week, there is a great deal to look forward to on the pitch, and we remain fully committed to building a more stable and sustainable future in the months ahead.”
