Crawley Women & Girls Project

Crawley Women & Girls Cricket Project

Sussex Cricket Foundation has received an initial pot of funding through the Active Sussex tackling inequalities fund, which is aimed at developing and opening up opportunities for Women and Girls across Crawley.

Part of the project involves working with three established clubs to provide an extended female offering to Women and Girls both within and the club already and those new to the game, from within the wider Community. The Foundation coaching team will support the clubs in delivering 10-week programmes of activity up to the end of July.

The three clubs engaged in the activity are Three Bridges, Crawley Eagles and Ifield, with Women and Girls encouraged to turn up at any point throughout the programme to get involved.

Ifield CC - Women & Girls Mondays from 6pm - 8pm.

Three Bridges CC - Thursdays 6pm - 7pm - 8 - 11 year olds & 7pm - 8pm Women & secondary school age.

Crawley Eagles CC - Sunday's 10am - 11am 8 - 11 year olds & 11am - 12pm Women & secondary school age.

There are two Women & Girls Soft Ball Cricket Days, these are a free day to have fun, for women and girls to play some soft ball cricket with family and friends, and meet new women and girls in the community. (maybe add the flyer)

Other exciting events that are coming up this summer include a partnership Community event, delivered alongside Crawley Old Girls football (COGs), Rivers and Crawley Council Development department. This will be a Community event for all Women and Girls across Crawley and details on this will be posted soon, so watch this space!

Our coaches are also keen to engage in the local mosques, temples and other religious centres and welcome any interest from organisations or groups across Crawley interested in receiving some activity.

We are also keen to engage more Women in leadership and coaching opportunities and have recently run a fully subscribed Coach Education course at the K2 and such was demand we will plan a second course later in the summer.

If you are from the Crawley area and want to try cricket or have a family member who wants to get involved, either through playing or coaching, there are so many opportunities to give cricket a try in a safe and welcoming environment this summer, so please contact Charlotte Burton for more details - charlotte.burton@sussexcricket.co.uk or 01273 827120
