Sussex Cricket runs multiple county disability squads. All squads train during Winter and Spring before representing Sussex in fixtures and competitions against other counties and local clubs during the cricket season.
The Sussex D40 Sharks 1st XI and 2nd XI play 40 over, hard ball version of cricket and compete in the ECB National Disabled Cricket League - D40 Quest and Pursuit Leagues. The teams primarily comprise of school and club cricketers who are experienced in playing the structured format of the game.

These teams comprise of players recruited from our community based Super 1s Clubs, giving them an opportunity to play a more structured format of cricket and develop them to potentially progress into our D40 teams.
There a two teams, one which plays a 30 over hard ball version of cricket (called D30) and one which plays a soft ball version against other counties at ECB Challenge Festivals as well as local club-friendly fixtures.

The visually impaired squad has been established for over 10 years and plays in the Blind Cricket England & Wales National League and Cup competitions against other visually impaired county teams from across the country.
