Thursday 21st March – Ian Martin and guests | Disability Cricket & The Sussex Cricket Foundation
For the last 16 years lan has been the Head of Disability Cricket at the England and Wales Cricket Board. He has overseen a growth in participation from under 2000 to over 72000 disabled people. He has led 20 overseas tours, winning 4 Ashes series in Australia and 1 World Cup. But that is only part of lan's incredible journey. Leaving home aged 16 to join the Royal Navy. He talks about his experiences at sea onboard HMS Ark Royal and service during the first Gulf War onboard HMS London and subsequent medical discharge after being diagnosed with a neuromuscular condition. lan talks openly about the impact of the diagnosis, his deterioration and mental health battles. His story is one of overcoming rejection, dreams, discovery, resilience and ultimately success through the power of sport and having a purpose.
Joining Ian will be an array of guests who help shape disability cricket including Community Cricket Director of The Sussex Cricket Foundation, Gary Wallis Tayler.
Friday 19th April – Toby Moore | Clarity, Confidence and Creativity
Toby’s mission is to help people experience more creative freedom in their work. Toby is the author of MAKE IT - How to work with Clarity, Confidence and Creativity, and the curator of TEDxBrighton, one of the UK’s largest and longest running TEDx events. He also works with a variety of youth charities and projects across Brighton to support the creative futures of young people.
Toby will speak about his journey as a creative entrepreneur and share his stories and frameworks for how you can enable more fun, freedom and creativity in your work, leadership and teams.
Friday 17th May - Lewis Hatchett | Mindset
As a former professional athlete, playing Cricket for Sussex Cricket, now a mindset coach. Lewis helps athletes and organisations turn their mindset into their greatest strength.
His journey wasn’t an easy one. He wasn’t the most talented. But he was able to make it to the top of his sport, against the odds, and he put it down to one thing – mindset.
Tuesday 25th June – Mo Kanjilal | Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion
Mo Kanjilal is Co-Creator at Watch This Sp_ce, a multi-award-winning diversity and inclusion company. During a career in international technology corporations leading global teams, Mo worked on creating diverse, inclusive teams. After working in smaller companies on similar initiatives, she co-created Watch This Sp_ce. The company works with organisations across sectors to help them understand why inclusive teams matter, what changes they need to make and how to help people work better together. Mo will join us shortly after her TEDxBrighton talk.
Wednesday 3rd July – Holly Budge | Climb your Everest

Holly's powerful keynote talk on mindset and mental toughness will motivate and inspire you on how to embrace life's peaks and recover from the troughs. She demonstrates the power of positive, active thinking, even in times of great physical & mental adversity.
Holly believes we all have an Everest to climb, but often, the enormity of a big goal is simply overwhelming. Stepping into the unknown is uncomfortable, and the thought of failing can be crippling. After Holly's talk, you will be inspired to climb your Everest.
Thursday 29th August – Desiree Anderson | Your Voyage To Success
Desiree Anderson is a Master Level Coach, bestselling author, speaker and founder of Crest Coaching & HR. She coaches business leaders, entrepreneurs and their teams to reach their full potential in life and work.
She has an MSc in Human Resources and has been featured in media such as The Independent, Sussex Business Times, Platinum Business Magazine, Los Angeles Times, Fox, NBC and Digital Journal.
Friday 27th September – Jack Green | Well-being, Mental Health and Olympic Performances
Jack Green is a double Olympian having represented Great Britain at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games in the 400m hurdles and 4x400m relay events.
Jack became a mental health ambassador for Mind and YoungMinds after being diagnosed with depression, bipolar tendencies and anxiety shortly after the 2012 Olympic Games. Jack has also worked with the House of Commons on the topic of mental health reform in elite sports.
Retiring at the age of 28 from a career that included European titles and world championships medals, Jack stepped into the corporate world to lead on well-being at BBC Studios during the COVID-19 pandemic. Jack was solely responsible for 30 offices globally and 10,000+ people.
Using his philosophy and passion for performance and well-being, Jack continues to support many global organisations with their well-being strategies and other service needs
Thursday 24th October – Matthew McNeill Love | The story of ‘Thursday’ - The Singles' Bar. Live in 60 cities around the world
Matt co-founded Thursday (Honeypot Dating Ltd) in September 2018. His company closed a pre-seed round of funding in November 2018 and it is now regularly used as an example to other aspiring companies as to how to crowdfund effectively. It released its first product, Honeypot, a dating app to Londoners in the summer of 2019. Through viral PR stunts and guerrilla marketing, the company achieved over 4 million impressions on a marketing budget of less than £500 resulting in over 20, 000 downloads. In April 2020 the company closed an additional top-up round of funding and is soon to release ‘Thursday’ once social-restrictions are lifted in the New Year in both London and New York.
Thursday closed a £2.5m Seed Round in June 2021 and is now actively exploring a Series A round for its US expansion.
Prior to this Matt had served for 6 years as a Welsh Guards Officer deploying to Afghanistan, Kenya, Malaysia and New Zealand. Matthew holds a degree in Business and Marketing and a diploma in Leadership and Management.
