Sussex Cricket is delighted to announce the signing of Joey Evison on a three-year contract from Kent.
The 24-year old all-rounder will join Sussex at the end of the season following a four-year spell at Kent, initially for 2022 Royal London Cup, on loan from Nottinghamshire, before joining on a permanent deal ahead of the 2023 season.
In 57 First Class matches, Evison has scored 2,561 runs with a High Score of 109*. With the ball, he's taken 92 wickets with best figures of 5/21.
A crucial component of Kent Spitfires' One Day Cup winning side in 2022, Evison has enjoyed a wealth of success in white ball cricket. Last year, it was his immaculate innings of 48* from 24 deliveries that guided Kent to victory over the Sharks at Hove, ultimately proving crucial in the Spitfires' quest for a quarter-final spot.
Sussex Head Coach, Paul Farbrace, said: “I am delighted that Joey [Evison] has decided to continue to develop his career with us at Hove. Joey is someone I’ve followed for a while and this is the perfect time for us to bring Joey into the club.
He is a talented all-round cricketer and will make an impact in all forms of the game. Joey has a real desire to want to improve and work hard to be the best he can be."
On joining Sussex, Evison said: “After four good years with Kent, I’ve decided to take a new opportunity at Sussex CCC. I’m really looking forward to joining up with Sussex, I really enjoy playing there and I can’t wait to work with Matt Walker again."
Evison will be available to play in all three formats for Sussex.
