Rizwan and Mills reach ICC World Cup T20 Final

Sussex Sharks duo Mohammad Rizwan and Tymal Mills are set for a potential showdown in Sunday’s ICC T20 World Cup Final, as England take on Pakistan following their defeat of India today in Adelaide.

Wicket-keeper batter Rizwan was in scintillating form yesterday as he made 57 from 43 balls, helping Pakistan to chase down the 153 set by New Zealand.  

He and fellow opener Babar Azam put on an opening wicket partnership of 105 to set up the victory and book their place in Sunday’s final.

Pakistan started the tournament slowly, losing their first two matches of the group stage, but are now within one victory of T20 World Cup glory.

England also saved their best performance for the semi-final, beating India in extraordinary fashion, winning by 10 wickets.

Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya both made impressive half-centuries as India set 169 for a place in the final against Pakistan, but England openers Jos Butler and Alex Hales made light work of the chase.

The pair cruised to the total in mesmerising fashion, a performance that will go down as one of the greatest in the history of the game.

Tymal Mills was a late call-up to the squad having originally been selected as a reserve following an injury to his toe in the summer, and although he has yet to feature in this tournament, may find himself in the team to face Pakistan on Sunday with England having several injury doubts ahead of the clash.
