Danni Wyatt cleared to play in Women's Big Bash semi-final

Sussex’s Danni Wyatt has been granted permission to remain in Australia for the semi-final of the Women’s Big Bash League.

Her Melbourne Renegades side will play Sydney Sixers in the second semi-final at the Drummoyne Oval in Sydney on Saturday.

Having topped the Renegades’ batting averages during the group stages, Danni had been due to return for an England training camp on Monday.

But after the Renegades qualified for the knock-out stages, the ECB granted permission for the opening batter to remain in Melbourne for another week.

Speaking to the cricket.com.au website, the Renegades captain, Amy Satterthwaire said: “We thought we wouldn’t have Danni, but England have allowed her to stay out.

“It’s brilliant we’ll have her, a real added bonus for what’s going to be a big game.”
