Members returning to The 1st Central County Ground on Thursday got their first glimpse of the newly-installed supporters wall in the Spen Cama Pavilion.
The wall contains all the names of members and Blast Pass holders who donated their 2020 fees to support Sussex Cricket through the COVID-19 pandemic and serves as a permanent reminder of the club’s enormous gratitude to the 1,250 individuals and organisations listed.
Alongside inclusion on the supporters wall, 2020 members that donated their subscriptions were entered into various prize draws. John Holland was the winner of a Life Membership, Brian Jeffries won a framed, signed 2021 LV= Insurance County Championship playing shirt and Walter Gammie – a member since 1970 - was given the honour of ringing the bell at the start of play on day one of this week’s match against Northamptonshire.
All other members that donated their subscriptions will be invited to watch Sussex train at The 1st Central County Ground when COVID-19 restrictions permit. In addition, those that renewed their membership have received a special edition gold membership card for 2021 that entitles them to a free hot beverage before 11am on the first day of each LV= Insurance County Championship at The 1st Central County Ground for the remainder of the season.
Blast Pass T20 season ticket holders who donated their subscription in 2020 were also entered into two draws. Tim Clark won a 2022 Blast Pass which will see him get into all seven of Sussex Sharks’ Vitality Blast home group games next summer and Chris Burns won a framed, signed Vitality Blast playing shirt.
All winners will be contacted by the club by the end of next week.
