Sussex Shark’s Friday night fixture against Kent Spitfires at Canterbury fell foul of the weather, with stormy conditions forcing an abandonment after little more than eleven overs had been bowled.
Aware that rain was forecast, Sharks skipper Luke Wright decided to field first after winning the toss.
Kent got off to a flying start, reaching 60-0 off the first five overs. Sussex managed to drag things back after Chris Jordan dismissed Daniel Bell-Drummond and then Rashid Khan had Joe Denly stumped.
Lightning forced the players off two balls into the 12th over before heavy rain then eliminated any chance of a restart.
Both sides take a point from the fixture.
