Bristol storms wash out Gloucestershire encounter

27 May 2018

Sussex Sharks' Royal London One-Day Cup fixture against Gloucestershire on Sunday was abandoned without a ball being bowled after heavy rainfall inundated the outfield at the Brightside Ground.

Umpires Neil Mallender and Tom Lungley conducted an inspection at 10.35am, but the outcome was a foregone conclusion, the pair calling the game off there and then.

Both sides take a point and remain in the hunt to qualify for the knockout stages.

The Sharks' next match is against Surrey at the Kia Oval on Tuesday.
