Bradley Currie signs extension with Sussex

Sussex Cricket is delighted to announce that Bradley Currie has signed a contract extension with the Club.

Bradley joined Sussex last season on a short-term deal following a number of key injuries to the Sussex bowling attack and his debut couldn’t have gone any better.

He took 6-93 in his first game in the LV= County Championship against Middlesex at Lords helping to secure Sussex a draw at the home of cricket, alongside fellow debutant, Ari Karvelas.

Speaking on signing for Sussex, Bradley Currie, said: “I absolutely loved my time here last year and I'm very excited for this opportunity and season ahead. I'm hoping I can contribute to a very successful season with Sussex in all formats of the game.

It also goes without saying that I am very excited to play with our overseas players this year. Let the outdoor pre-season training begin...”

Currie went on to play a major role in the Sussex Sharks’ Royal London Cup campaign last year that saw them reach the semi-finals of the competition.

In 8 appearances for the Sharks, Currie took 12 wickets at an economy of 4.87, with his best figures of 3-38 coming in an emphatic 201 run victory over Somerset.

Sussex Bowling Coach, James Kirtley, added: "It is great news that Bradley has signed his extension, he is an incredibly skilled bowler who moves the ball laterally, as we saw at Lord’s last year.

Equally, he can be very effective bowling over and around the wicket, so it’s going to be great to see his progression at Sussex."
