Linsey Smith and Danni Wyatt – Sussex’s England representatives at the ICC Women’s World T20 were denied an opportunity for some match practice ahead of the tournament on Saturday. England had been due to take on Australia at the Stanford Cricket Ground in Coolidge, Antigua but the match was abandoned without a toss. England have one more warm-up – against India on Wednesday – scheduled before their tournament proper starts against Sri Lanka on Saturday.

Luke Wells was in action for Casey-South Melbourne on day one of their Victorian Premier Cricket match away at Camberwell Magpies on Saturday. Luke opened the batting after his team had won the toss but only lasted four balls before he was caught for a duck off Victoria opening bowler Andrew Fekete. Casey-South Melbourne recovered well to make 329-9 declared in their first innings. Camberwell will begin their reply next Saturday.

Earlier this morning, Phil Salt was part of a Lahore Qalandars side that beat Sydney Thunder Development XI at Pratten Park, Ashfield in their opening match of the Sydney Quin Series. Phil made eight batting at number five as Lahore reached 137-7 off their twenty overs. The Thunder looked to be cruising at 105-5 off fifteen overs, but some fine death bowling saw them fall three runs short of their target.
