England Women cruised to an eight-wicket win in Colombo on Sunday to go one-nil up in their IT20 series against Sri Lanka.
Left-arm seamer Freya Davies (two for 28) took two wickets on her international debut while Sussex teammate Linsey Smith recorded her best IT20 figures with three for 18 from her four overs.
Batting first Sri Lanka were bowled out for 94 and in reply England had little trouble in knocking off the required runs.
Anya Shrubsole (two for 20), Nat Sciver (one for six) and Laura Marsh (one for 14) were the other England wicket-takers before opening batter Tammy Beaumont made an unbeaten fifty from 43 balls as England chased their target with more than five overs to spare.
Beaumont’s opening partner, Sussex’s Danni Wyatt made 15 from 14 deliveries.
The second match of the three-match series takes place on Wednesday, also at the P Sara Oval.
