Two Sussex seam bowlers have been included in the England Women’s Academy squad for its tour to South Africa.
Regulars in the Sussex Women’s side, Ellen Burt and Tara Norris are part of a group of fourteen that will play a tri-series against Australia and South Africa.
Each side will play each other three times with the aim of qualifying for the final on Saturday 28th April. England’s first match is against South Africa tomorrow (Tuesday 10th April).
The purpose of the tour is to allow players in and around the England Women’s Academy the opportunity to develop their skills within a competitive environment against their peers from other countries.
Twenty-year old Burt, born in Crawley, is a member of the 2017/18 England Women’s Senior Academy, her second year on the programme.
Norris, a nineteen-year-old Sussex Academy graduate who attended Portslade Aldridge Community Academy (PACA), was part of the England Women’s Academy last year and made her Kia Super League debut for Southern Vipers last summer.
Details of the England Women’s Pathway programmes can be found here.
