Tom Haines will spend the next six weeks training at the prestigious Gary Kirsten Cricket Academy in Cape Town, South Africa.
The 20-year-old academy graduate will spend the time working on his game and fitness with Kirsten and his team of coaches.
He will then be joined in Cape Town by a number of his Sussex teammates for a warm-weather batting camp led by Michael Yardy which will lead into the squad’s pre-season tour in March.
“I’ll be taking the things I’ve been working on with Yards out to the academy and work with Gary and his team of coaches on further improving my game,” Haines said.
“Over the next six weeks, I will increase the volume of batting and fitness work to allow me to be best prepared for our pre-season games in Cape Town and the county season ahead.”
