Tom Haines will captain Sussex for the remainder of the LV= Insurance County Championship season.
Commenting on the decision, the club’s Championship and One-Day Head Coach Ian Salisbury said: “Tom did a really good job marshalling a young side during the 50-over competition. He felt the experience really helped develop his leadership skills and how he thinks about the game, and he really enjoyed it. We’ve asked him to carry on captaining the side on an interim basis, and he’s keen to do that.”
Sussex’s Championship season resumes on Monday against Worcestershire at New Road. A full squad for the fixture will be announced later today.
