Sussex duo Michael Burgess and Phil Salt starred for Adelaide University Cricket club on Tuesday as the Blacks secured their place in the semi-finals of South Australia Premier Cricket's T20 competition with a win over East Torrens.
With Jofra Archer and Tymal Mills watching on from the crowd, Adelaide produced a solid performance with the ball, restricting their visitors to 109-4 from 20 overs, before Burgess and then Salt came to the crease to steer the South Australian side to victory.
Salt only arrived in Adelaide last week, but alongside his Sussex colleague, struck the ball beautifully to record 29* from 20 balls on a memorable debut. Burgess was even more destructive, smashing six fours and three sixes on his way to an unbeaten 64 from 40 balls to continue his good form.
With seven overs still remaining, Adelaide reached their target to secure a nine-wicket victory and book their place in the semi-final on Tuesday 30th January.
