Sussex Cricket Society presents cheque to support youth cricket

25 Jan 2018

The Sussex Cricket Society (SCS), an independent supporters association, has donated £1,000 to help fund Sussex Cricket’s player pathway, the club’s youth development scheme.

Chairman of the Society, Andrew Long, was on hand to present a cheque to Director of Cricket, Keith Greenfield at a recent SCS meeting at The 1st Central County Ground.

The pair were joined by current Boys’ Academy player, Will Sheffield, one of the many young cricketers in the player pathway who will benefit from the Society’s generosity.

Speaking after the meeting, Andrew commented on the donation: “The future of the game depends on coaching and training opportunities all year round and Sussex Cricket provides these facilities and expertise for boys and girls and boys throughout the county.

“In recognising this, the Society was delighted to be able to help.”

More information regarding the Sussex Cricket Society can be found on their website. Further enquiries can be made to the Secretary, David Harrison via e-mail or telephone on 01273 710 500.
