Second XI fixtures remain behind closed doors until further notice

15 May 2021

Supporters are advised that, regrettably, Sussex’s home 2nd XI fixtures will continue to be played behind closed doors until further notice.

Government guidelines permit the return of limited number of spectators to elite sport from Monday 17th May but with stricter procedures and controls to those applicable to recreational cricket

The resources and facilities that would be required to meet this duty of care to spectators, alongside players and officials, make it unviable to open 2nd XI fixtures to the public at this point.

We very much hope to be able to amend this position as and when restrictions are loosened further.

In the meantime, the club would like to thank supporters for their continued patience and understanding.

The latest spectator information for first team games at The 1st Central County Ground is available on our ticketing page.
