The Sussex Cricket Foundation is delighted to announce that The Sussex Masonic Charitable Foundation and The Rugby Lodge of Sussex No.9990 have generously donated £5000 to the Foundation.
The incredible contribution will help the Sussex Cricket Foundation to continue its mission to change lives through cricket across the county.
£2600 was originally raised directly by The Rugby Lodge of Sussex No.9990 at an event on 4th November 2023, where Sussex Cricket CEO, Rob Andrew shared stories from his glittering career.
An auction, raffle and games helped to raise the original sum, which was then matched by The Sussex Masonic Charitable Foundation, taking the total to £5000.
Speaking on the donation, Andy said: “On behalf of The Rugby Lodge of Sussex No.9990 and The Sussex Masonic Charitable Foundation, we are delighted to present a donation of £5000 to the Sussex Cricket Foundation.
“We thank and appreciate all the support that Rob Andrew has given to The Rugby Lodge of Sussex No.9990 over the years, and this is our way of supporting Rob’s great cause, which is close to his heart, as well as helping to improve local young people’s purpose in life.”
On Tuesday 19th December, Andy Tugwell presented Rob Andrew with a cheque for £5000 at The 1st Central County Ground.
Sussex Cricket CEO, Rob Andrew added: “We are extremely grateful to both The Rugby Lodge of Sussex No.9990 and The Sussex Masonic Charitable Foundation for their incredibly generous donation to the Sussex Cricket Foundation.
“The donation will enable the Foundation to continue making a difference in the lives of local people, through the game that we all know and love.”
