Phil Salt joining England ODI bubble ahead of Royal London Series against Australia

Sussex batsman Phil Salt will join England’s ODI group as a reserve ahead of the Royal London Series against Australia starting on Friday 11 September at Emirates Old Trafford. 

He is not available for selection in Sussex’s Bob Willis Trophy fixture against Surrey, which starts today at The Kia Oval.

Salt starred for England Lions in July, scoring a century in a warm-up match against Ireland, and will have the chance to impress Eoin Morgan again when he returns to the bio-secure training bubble. 

Sussex head coach, Jason Gillespie said: "It's a great opportunity for Salty and we're delighted for him. 

"It will be great for him to spend some more time with the England players and develop his cricket even further."
