Sussex superstar Jofra Archer has been named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of this year’s Indian Premier League (MVP).
Twenty wickets and 175 dot balls in his fourteen matches for Rajasthan Royals, as well as five fours and ten sixes and five catches gave Jofra 305 player points.
That was seven more than second placed Kagiso Rabada, the South African seamer who scored 298 points from 17 matches for finalists Delhi Capitals.
Jofra’s Sussex Sharks teammate Rashid Khan was fourth on the MVP list, with 260 points from 16 matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad who missed out on a place in the final after losing in qualifier.
Jofra’s Royals were knocked out in the group stages with six wins and eight defeats from their matches.
Next on the World Cup winners’ packed schedule is England’s white ball tour to South Africa, departing on Monday 16th November.
Jofra is part of the T20 squad that will play three matches against the Proteas, but has been rested for the ODI leg of the tour.
