Sussex beat Gloucestershire by eight wickets in a three-day Second XI Championship fixture at Blackstone Academy Ground sponsored by Hurstpierpoint College on Wednesday.
The Sussex side had Jofra Archer in their ranks, and bowled the visitors out for 79 on the opening day, with Archer at his lethal best, taking figures of 6-27.
The World Cup winner was hoping to prove his fitness ahead of next week's second Ashes test, and looked as impressive with the bat as he did with the ball. His stunning knock of 108 came off just 99 balls, and included 12 fours and four sixes to put Sussex in a strong position in their first innings.
Luke Wells also batted well, scoring 59 off 83 balls, while wicket-keeper Joe Billings scored 42 off 80 balls, before the hosts were all out for 322 - a lead of 243.
Abi Sakande made the breakthrough early on in Gloucestershire's second innings, bowling Tom Price for 13, and he ended with figures of 2-46 from 16 overs as the Sussex attack bowled well once again.
Like Sakande, Jordi Shaw also took two wickets, while Elliott Hooper took 3-61 off 24 overs and Archer took his tally of wickets to seven in the match as Gloucestershire were all out for 279.
Needing just 37 to win, Wells and Tom Haines headed out to the middle and the latter finished unbeaten on 17, taking his side over the line alongside Alastair Orr, who was not out on four.
