Ishant Sharma was awarded with his county cap ahead of play on the first morning of Sussex's Specsavers County Championship match against Kent.
Presenting the Indian international with his cap and a sweater emblazoned with six martlets on the outfield at Canterbury, Sussex club captain, Ben Brown said: "This is a very special moment today. We've had Ishant here for a few weeks now and this is his last red-ball game. He has lived the standards we want from players at the club.
"As a senior player, he has set the bar so, so high and we have all learnt from him in terms of how to go about things and it's my pleasure to cap you today."
Ishant becomes the 145th player to be capped by Sussex.
