Five Sussex players selected for England Women's tours of India & Sri Lanka

Five Sussex players have been selected for England Women’s forthcoming tours to India and Sri Lanka.

Georgia Elwiss, Sarah Taylor and Danni Wyatt are part of the squad for the one-day international leg of the India tour in Mumbai, while Elwiss, Wyatt, Freya Davies - whose first central contract was announced on Wednesday - and Linsey Smith have been selected for the international T20 portion in Guwahati.

After a warm up against a Board President’s XI on , England play India in three ODIs between 22nd and 28th February. Three T20Is follow between Monday 4th and Saturday 9th March.

Davies, Elwiss, Smith and Wyatt have also been selected for the subsequent trip to Sri Lanka, the dates of which are to be announced shortly.

England coach Mark Robinson said: "We've looked to use as many players as we can to give everyone an opportunity to learn and grow as we head into a busy year.

"We've included 18 players across the squads and they'll come in and out as the tours progress as we look to improve our strength in depth.

"We've got a huge Ashes series in the summer, as well as hosting the West Indies, and obviously there are ICC Women's Championship points up for grabs across both of these tours so there's hard work ahead of us but we're excited."
