16 May 2019

Sussex romped to a 384-run win in their latest Second Eleven Championship match against MCC Young Cricketers at High Wycombe CC.

Phil Salt’s 53-ball 86 as well as half-centuries for Luke Wells, Harry Finch and Delray Rawlins saw Sussex post 369 for 8 declared having won the toss and batted.

Danny Briggs picked up five wickets as the home side were shot out for 136 in reply, before Harry Finch solidified Sussex’s dominant position with an unbeaten 115 during the team’s second innings of 345 for 6 declared.

Needing an unlikely 578 for victory, the YCs were then dismissed for 194 as Will Beer took 5 for 23 from his 18.4 overs.

The seconds’ next match is another Championship fixture against Middlesex at Uxbridge, starting on Tuesday 28th May.
