‘Where Cricket Meets…’, Sussex Cricket’s ever-popular series of fundraising events, returns for 2018 with ‘…Ladies Day’ on Friday 4th May.
Raising money for the Sussex Cancer Fund, the event takes place in the Focus Group Boundary Rooms at The 1st Central County Ground, Hove and features a two-course lunch followed by a set from musical comedian, Celia Delaney, who will be performing her ‘Man Wanted’ show.
There will also a charity auction and a game of heads and tails, with afternoon tea served later in the day.
All this takes place against the backdrop of day one of Sussex CCC’s Specsavers County Championship match against the 2016 champions, Middlesex.
“As with all ‘Where Cricket Meets…’ events, the reason we’re getting together is to raise much-needed funds for a fantastic charity. The Sussex Cancer Fund does incredible work in our community and we’re extremely pleased to be helping such an important cause.”
Since its inception in 2010, ‘Where Cricket Meets…’ has raised over £160,000 for various local and national charities and treated its guests to speeches from star names including Warwick Davis, Sir Viv Richards, Nigel Owens and Paul Merson.
Amongst the charities supported by the events are Chestnut Tree House, Rockinghorse Children’s Charity, The Martlets, Sussex Cricket Foundation and Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Sussex Cancer Fund, the beneficiary of next month’s ‘Where Cricket Meets… Ladies Day’, works with the NHS to create new and improved facilities providing the best possible cancer care for Sussex.
The event is being made possible by the kind support of three Sussex-based businesses, Brighton Gin Club, Consortium and Parafix.
Tickets are available for £55 per person or £500 for a table of ten via the Sussex Cricket website or by emailing corporatesales@sussexcricket.co.uk.
