Sussex Cricket would like to congratulate Sussex Cricket League member, Burgess Hill CC for their recent success at the Active Sussex Sussex Sports Awards.
The club was named ‘Everyone Active Club of the Year’ at the event held at the Grand Hotel in Brighton on Friday 23rd November.
The award capped off a fine year for the Burgess CC, which saw its 1st XI crowned champions of Sussex Cricket League Division Three and promoted to play at the highest level in the club’s history.
The club has one of the biggest youth cricket sections in the county and thriving links with local schools, where they provide coaching, host competitions and give leadership opportunities for older children.
Matt Parsons, Sussex Cricket’s Territory Manager for the north of the county, commented: "Burgess Hill CC continue to shine as one of the strongest run Cricket clubs in Mid Sussex. They have grown quickly over the past few years and now have a strong structure for both junior and senior provision. They are keen to support our County initiatives and competitions and provide a focal point in the local community for both boys and girls to play Cricket"
