Sussex’s Jofra Archer and Chris Jordan have been retained by their respective franchises, Rajasthan Royals and King's XI Punjab, for this year’s Indian Premier League, set to take place in April and May. Sussex Sharks Vitality Blast overseas player, Rashid Khan was also retained by his IPL team, Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Jofra was selected as the tournament’s MVP in 2020 so it came as no surprise to see the World Cup winner among the 17 players retained by the Royals.

Hyderabad retained 22 players for this year's IPL, including Rashid who is the world's number one T20 bowler according to ICC rankings.
