Archer, Jordan & Rashid retained by franchises for 2021 IPL

20 Jan 2021

Sussex’s Jofra Archer and Chris Jordan have been retained by their respective franchises, Rajasthan Royals and King's XI Punjab, for this year’s Indian Premier League, set to take place in April and May. Sussex Sharks Vitality Blast overseas player, Rashid Khan was also retained by his IPL team, Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Jofra was selected as the tournament’s MVP in 2020 so it came as no surprise to see the World Cup winner among the 17 players retained by the Royals.

CJ - England's leading wicket-taker of all time in T20 internationals - was one of 16 players retained by King's XI, a group that includes just three overseas players,

Hyderabad retained 22 players for this year's IPL, including Rashid who is the world's number one T20 bowler according to ICC rankings.

The eight IPL teams will fill the rest of their rosters at an auction expected to take place on Thursday 18th February.
