Rashid Khan was named man of the match in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s low-scoring victory against Mumbai Indians in the IPL on Tuesday night.
That made the Afghan the second Sussex player to receive the accolade in just three days, following on from Jofra Archer’s award on Sunday.
Rashid took 2-11 from his four overs in Tuesday’s match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, giving him an economy rate on the night of just 2.75 runs per over.
The leg-spinner picked up the wickets of Krunal Pandya and Kieron Pollard as Mumbai were bowled out for 87 chasing Sunrisers’ 118.
This was Rashid’s second man of the match award of the 2018 IPL, the first coming during another Sunrisers Hyderabad win over Mumbai Indians earlier in the tournament.
After six matches, Sunrisers sit in third place, level on eight points with second-placed Chennai Super Kings.
Rashid’s Sussex Sharks teammate, Chris Jordan, is also in the Sunrisers squad, but did not feature on Tuesday night.
