Academy Director, Carl Hopkinson surveys the 2018 boys' intake

We caught up with Sussex Cricket’s Academy Director, Carl Hopkinson to hear his thoughts on the recently announced 2018 Boys’ Academy intake.

The former Sussex batsman also explained how the boys would be approaching their training this winter, the specific areas of their game they would be working on and why the Academy is as much about producing cricketers for England as it is for Sussex.

Carl goes on to give an overview of some of the changes to the Sussex youth set-up as a whole, including the benefits of a stand-alone Girls’ Academy and Emerging Player Programme (EPP).
